Description

The Yak-Camel Foundation annually honors outstanding scientific publications in the field of international yak and camel research with a prize of €5,000. Private individuals residing nationwide may submit their works written in German or English by April 1st, provided the first publication date is no more than three years old. The award aims to promote scientific exchange and progress in the disciplines of basic and applied research concerning yaks and camels. In particular, researchers contributing new insights into the ecology, genetics, animal husbandry, or ethological aspects of these ungulates find in this prize a platform to present and recognize their results internationally.

Submissions must be made exclusively by the authors themselves; works submitted by third parties will not be accepted. Evaluation is based on scientific quality by the foundation and, if necessary, external expert reviewers. Applications must include: the unabridged original version of the published work, a current passport photo, and a brief curriculum vitae of the applicants. The jury’s decision is final and binding. The award not only recognizes excellent research but also aims to create an incentive to further expand international cooperation and interdisciplinary exchange in the research field of yaks and camels.
