Description
The production-integrated species protection measures (CEF/FCS) in North Rhine-Westphalia offer targeted subsidies to companies and agricultural enterprises to promote advanced compensation and conservation measures for planning-relevant species in accordance with the Federal Nature Conservation Act. Farmers and other project sponsors can benefit from ongoing funding opportunities to protect skylark, yellowhammer, lapwing, little owl, or natterjack toad through ecological enhancements and accompanying monitoring. The Rheinische Kulturlandschaft Foundation also recognizes designated measures as compensation and replacement measures, allowing participants to receive eco-points and thus demonstrably link contribution and benefit to biodiversity.
CEF measures to prevent prohibited acts (§ 44 BNatSchG) as well as FCS measures to secure a favorable conservation status (§ 45 (7) BNatSchG) are funded. Eligible expenses include the planning and implementation of production-integrated projects on agricultural land as well as monitoring and evaluation for quality assurance. The professional quality of the measures and a convincing monitoring concept play a decisive role in the selection process. Thanks to the continuous application possibility, species protection projects can be implemented flexibly and optimized in the long term. Interested companies can find comprehensive information and application instructions directly from the Rheinische Kulturlandschaft Foundation.
