Description
The program Women, Career & Studies is aimed at working women with primary residence in Vienna who wish to study part-time at a university of applied sciences in the fields of digitalization, sustainability, or technology. The goal is to significantly increase the proportion of women in these future-oriented degree programs. Participants benefit from individual process counseling provided by the Vienna Employees’ Promotion Fund (waff) and gain access to study-relevant workshops, networking events, and preparatory courses. This approach removes both academic and organizational barriers before the start of studies and enables a seamless transition into everyday academic life.
Eligible for funding are women with an active employment relationship above the marginal earnings threshold and without a completed relevant master’s, diploma, or magister degree. The funding includes grants for pre-qualification and tutoring courses (90% of costs, up to €5,000) as well as scholarships of up to €12,000 for bachelor’s and €9,000 for master’s programs. Applications for qualification grants can be submitted no later than four weeks after the course start, and scholarship applications by November 15 of the first semester. Required documents include, among others, registration confirmation, social insurance data extract, proof of highest school qualification, valid training contract, and confirmation of the first day of study. Continuous counseling and financial support contribute to securing academic success and strengthening the compatibility of work and study.
