Description

The project House of Nature at Schrofen in St. Leonhard im Pitztal (Tyrol) promotes the expansion of the existing Tyrolean Ibex Center through the construction of a multifunctional building with additional exhibition space, seminar, and meeting rooms. The aim of this regional measure is to strengthen nature education and scientific activities as well as to spatially support the state hunting area Pitztal. The construction project addresses important topics such as environmental/nature conservation, education, and climate protection and contributes to the sustainable development of rural areas. The seminar room will create central points of contact for workshops, guided tours, and training sessions, while the new spaces will expand the presentation of flora and fauna in the high alpine habitat. Thus, the Tyrolean Ibex Center will be further developed into a modern teaching and research facility in the Alpine region.

The funding is provided as a direct grant to public institutions and is primarily aimed at the municipality of St. Leonhard im Pitztal as the project sponsor. Eligible expenses include construction and planning costs, which must be documented by professionally audited invoices confirming their factual and technical accuracy. A prerequisite for approval is the respective government decision as well as the conclusion of a funding agreement. The project duration is up to 36 months; applications can be submitted from 09.11.2022 until the budget is exhausted. Interested institutions can find all details regarding the application process in the General Funding Guidelines of the State of Tyrol, which ensure appropriate and efficient use of funds.
