Description
The participatory school project in Carinthia aimed at raising awareness of hate on the internet targets non-profit organizations and educational institutions working with a fixed school class during the 2025/26 school year. Over a period of twelve months, young people, under pedagogical guidance and together with expert trainers, develop media formats such as workshops, video clips, stickers, and postcards. The focus is on a gender-reflective engagement with cyberbullying, hate speech, and the various forms of digital hostility. This includes addressing hazardous situations as well as legal frameworks and concrete courses of action. The content serves not only direct classroom work but also contributes continuously to an online platform as a long-term information resource.
The aim of the funding is to empower young people in fixed groups to independently realize creative projects and thereby engage their peers in respectful online communication. The developed materials are intended to generate public attention and act as multipliers. Implementation takes place within the framework of a grant, whereby compliance with the provisions according to the service contract is a prerequisite for funding. The project start date is September 1, 2025; applications are possible until August 31, 2026. Through the participatory methodology, sustainable learning processes are initiated that strengthen democratic coexistence and promote social cohesion.
