Description

The Children and Youth Fund Weimar offers grant funding in the Free State of Thuringia for projects that strengthen children and young people in Weimar and the Weimar district in the areas of culture, play, learning, communication, and civic engagement. Eligible to apply are public institutions, educational providers, non-profit initiatives, as well as private individuals, provided that public funding for the respective project is excluded. Funding applications can be submitted by March 31, June 30, and September 30 each year; emergency aid is also available at any time. In addition to classic cultural and educational formats, activities in the fields of engagement for social cohesion, media, vocational training and further education, as well as work and social affairs, are supported.

The funding program is aimed at committed children and young people who wish to realize their own projects, as well as professionals from youth welfare, school social work, or the children’s office who support applicants during the application process. A prerequisite is that the project is based in Weimar or the Weimar district, has a thematic connection to the aforementioned funding areas, and that no other public funds are available for it. Evaluation criteria particularly include the strengthening of social behavior and civic engagement, an exemplary approach, and the integration of existing local activities. The fund thus enables support for theater productions, exhibitions, film projects, playground initiatives, or youth center concepts and contributes to promoting the participation of young people in cultural and social life locally.
