Project and Research Funding of the Child and Youth Foundation

The project and research funding of the Kind und Jugend Foundation of the Federal Association of Pediatricians (BVKJ) supports educational institutions, non-profit organizations, and companies nationwide that wish to implement innovative initiatives in the field of child and adolescent health. Funding is provided for scientific activities, healthcare research, and preventive measures, as well as informational materials, events, and cultural activities that contribute to the health-related quality of life and safety of young people. Applications can be submitted on an ongoing basis, subject to available funds. A close alignment with the needs of outpatient pediatric practices forms a central basis, as does a thorough scientific evaluation of all projects.

The focus of the funding is on the development and improvement of outpatient pediatric care processes, for example through studies on vaccination prevention, early detection examinations, or innovative educational formats such as theater projects and language promotion measures. A prerequisite for financial support is a reviewed study concept assessed by the foundation’s board, as well as a convincing evaluation plan. Evaluation criteria include scientific quality, practical relevance, and sustainability. Eligible expenses include personnel and material costs for research work, design and printing costs for informational materials, organizational costs for professional events, and fees for cultural projects. Through this offering, the foundation contributes to strengthening healthcare and prevention for children and adolescents while simultaneously promoting interdisciplinary cooperation between research, practice, and social stakeholders.
