Description

The Bildungswerk Berlin of the Heinrich Böll Foundation e.V. supports political educational events in the capital and is aimed at freelance collaborators as well as working groups active within the framework of the Bildungswerk. In addition to evening events, seminars, and workshops, the foundation supports specialist conferences, international encounters, documentation, and exhibitions, provided they take place in Berlin. Submissions are possible until September 15, 2026; the allocation of funds is decided periodically by the board. The Bildungswerk always acts as the organizer, which must be indicated on all publications including advertisements and posters. For events with additional funding from the Berlin State Agency for Civic Education, the corresponding note is mandatory on all materials.

Funding covers fees according to the fee schedule of the Berlin State Agency for Civic Education, travel expenses according to the Federal Travel Expenses Act (max. EUR 0.20/km, up to EUR 130), accommodation (up to EUR 25/night), as well as daily rates for educational venues (max. EUR 60). Per diem allowances of up to EUR 26 per day apply for international speakers; childcare can be billed at an hourly rate of EUR 13.69. Advertising (posters, printing costs), postage, and copies are also eligible for funding. Seminar breaks, alcoholic beverages, deposits, and tips are not covered. A prerequisite for consideration is active participation in the Bildungswerk as well as proof of professional qualification when applying for the highest rate. The project application is submitted via a provided PDF form.
