Project funding by the Anstoß – Foundation for Social Projects and Initiatives in the City and District of Gießen is aimed at private individuals, non-profit organizations, interest groups, and associations based in the Hessen region. Funding is provided for local initiatives that improve the quality of life for socially disadvantaged people – especially children and youth, migrants, refugees, as well as girls and women in emergency and violence situations. The focus is on thematic areas such as social affairs, child and youth welfare, women's empowerment, migration, health, and commitment to social cohesion. Grants of up to €8,000 can be applied for. Applications must be submitted by November 30 each year; the award decision is made no later than February of the following year.
