Description
The project funding of the Bürgerstiftung Weingarten/Württemberg is aimed at non-profit organizations, interest groups, educational institutions, associations, and private individuals based in the city of Weingarten. The goal is to strengthen the common good and social cohesion. Projects in the areas of arts and culture, local heritage and customs, monument, nature, environmental and landscape protection, health promotion, education, upbringing and sports, as well as youth, family, and senior work are supported. Social support services, self-help groups, measures for international understanding and human rights, science, research and teaching, as well as civic engagement, are also considered. Particular emphasis is placed on a high level of voluntary commitment – exemplary and innovative project approaches that create sustainable structures and achieve broad impact are especially appreciated by the board.
Applications can be submitted continuously and must include the completed funding application along with the statutes or certificate of non-profit status and a proof of use. A project location in Weingarten, a non-profit or charitable purpose, and a concept with model and exemplary character are prerequisites. Projects outside the city, commercial events, fundraising campaigns, political or religious groups, projects of state institutions, and long-term ongoing funding are not supported. With the grant, the Bürgerstiftung supports innovative ideas that provide help for self-help or offer short-term emergency aid. The decision is made by the foundation’s board according to its own criteria – there is no legal entitlement. The foundation encourages committed initiatives and private individuals to contribute with their project proposals to the revitalization of the local community and to set new accents for a solidarity-based coexistence.
