Project Funding of the German Foundation for Women’s and Gender Research

The German Foundation for Women’s and Gender Research supports innovative projects nationwide in the fields of women’s and gender studies, research, education, work, and social affairs. Individuals, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, companies, and foundations can apply for grants for research projects, publications, exhibitions, and events. Both external and internal initiatives that contribute to the clarification and deepening of gender studies issues are funded. The initiative is aimed at scholars, practitioners, and multipliers who wish to introduce new impulses for gender and women’s research through scientific analyses, teaching formats, or public formats.

Applications can be submitted easily at any time via the online form; feedback is usually provided within 14 days after submission. A prerequisite is a fully completed form that clearly outlines the foundation’s purpose in the areas of women’s and gender research or education. It is sufficient to specify the project goal, content structure, and an overview of costs and financing. This continuous funding pillar enables prompt planning and implementation of scientific and societal initiatives and creates space for creative exchange among actors in gender research.
