Description
The Meyer-Sickendiek Foundation for Education and Upbringing supports private-sector and church-affiliated institutions that promote language skills, health awareness, and social development among children and adolescents in North Rhine-Westphalia. Projects funded include language support courses, health education in both school and extracurricular settings, children’s recreational activities, social behavior training, as well as accompanying parental involvement. Special priority is given to initiatives in Bad Salzuflen; if no suitable project is available there, applications from the entire Lippe district or Westphalia may be submitted. The open-ended project funding is provided as a grant and aims to strengthen sustainable educational and upbringing concepts and to establish structures that are effective in the long term.
Eligible to participate are organizations with private-sector or church legal status, provided their project covers the defined funding areas and they are based within the funding region. Applications may be submitted at any time, allowing for flexible and tailored support. Since its founding in 2005, over 68 projects have been funded with more than 100,000 euros – exemplary projects include theater and film initiatives for language development, musical programs at primary schools, or intercultural reading promotion programs. The advisory board decides on the allocation of funds based on professional assessment and ensures a high quality of the supported measures. Institutions wishing to expand their offerings for the education and upbringing of children and adolescents will find this continuous funding a valuable support opportunity.
