Project Funding of the Schleswig-Holstein National Park Foundation

The project funding provided by the National Park Foundation Schleswig-Holstein offers non-profit organizations, educational institutions, public authorities, and individuals new opportunities to sustainably strengthen the protected area of the Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea National Park. Projects based in Schleswig-Holstein in the fields of environmental and nature conservation, education, research & innovation, as well as energy efficiency and climate protection, are eligible to receive financial grants upon application. Both concepts for habitat and species conservation as well as innovative formats for environmental education and information about the Wadden Sea can be proposed. Project ideas can be submitted year-round, allowing for timely responses to pressing nature conservation issues.

Interested stakeholders wishing to implement a project within the National Park or adjacent areas must submit a project-specific outline together with the official funding application form. Compliance with the Foundation’s funding guidelines and the development of a coherent concept that considers transportation routes, energy efficiency, and climate protection aspects are prerequisites. A detailed project outline and the fully completed application form are required. Based on this, experts from the Foundation assess the technical quality and the expected benefits for the Wadden Sea ecosystem. Early planning and transparent presentation of project objectives increase the chances of success. With this continuously available funding, the commitment of all involved contributes to further researching the unique Wadden Sea habitat, preserving it for future generations, and sustainably conveying the significance of this World Natural Heritage site.
