Description

The project funding of the Prof. Dr. Werner-Petersen Foundation focuses on outstanding initiatives in the fields of science, research, technology, and culture – with particular emphasis on young scientists and artists in Schleswig-Holstein and the Baltic Sea region. As a non-repayable grant, the foundation supports early-career scientists, researchers, technicians, and cultural practitioners, as well as public and non-profit institutions, universities, and – in justified cases – private individuals. The funds are intended to strengthen innovative developments, excellent research work, and the equipment of scientific, technical, and cultural institutions. Funding applications can be submitted continuously, allowing flexible project planning independent of fixed deadlines.

The official project funding application form must be used for submissions and must be accompanied by a detailed project description and a cost and financing plan (including own contributions). Eligible expenses include personnel costs, material expenses, and scholarships, while projects that have already commenced prior to the funding decision will not be considered. For applications aimed at supporting early-career researchers, additional documents such as examination certificates, a work and time schedule, a university professor’s reference, as well as declarations from the institute management and regarding one’s own income and asset situation must be provided. Upon a positive decision, the funds are granted as an earmarked subsidy, the use of which must be documented in regular interim reports and a final usage report.
