Description
The project funding of the Kraftwerk Hirschfelde Foundation is aimed at forward-looking initiatives in the Lusatian region that focus on industrial heritage, energy history, energy future, and technology acceptance. Funding is provided for monument preservation measures, scientific investigations, educational offerings, symposia or workshops, as well as scholarships for students. Innovative approaches, sustainable concepts, and networking with other stakeholders are intended to generate impulses for research and the public. Up to 50 percent of eligible expenses are granted as a non-repayable subsidy. Particular emphasis is placed on the long-term impact and the free accessibility of project results in order to actively shape the dialogue between history and technological future. Applications can be submitted continuously and are reviewed in a transparent process by the foundation coordination, the board, and the advisory council.
Eligible to apply are non-profit organizations, associations, educational institutions, universities, research institutions, and, in individual cases, natural persons based in the Lusatian region. The prerequisite is that the project has not yet started before the application is submitted and that non-profit status is proven. The funding application must include a detailed project description, a financing and schedule plan, as well as relevant documentation (e.g., tax exemption certificate). Expenses for commercial activities, input tax amounts, or interim financing are not eligible for funding. Upon completion or – for projects with a duration of twelve months or more – in the form of an interim report, the use of funds and the results must be documented in a report on the use of funds. Through continuous, versatile support, the Kraftwerk Hirschfelde Foundation contributes to preserving industrial heritage and providing impulses for future developments.
