Description

The project funding from the Luftbrückendank Foundation supports initiatives rooted in Berlin that keep the chapter "Airlift and Berlin Blockade" alive. A wide range of youth and cultural projects are funded, combining historical-political education, artistic formats, and international encounters. Special attention is given to projects actively involving young people and young adults from the USA, Great Britain, and France. In doing so, the foundation contributes to the culture of remembrance, promotes perspectives of international understanding, and supports creative approaches to one of the most formative events of post-war history. Public institutions and non-profit organizations can implement sustainable programs based on a one-time grant.

Applications can be submitted online on an ongoing basis. Prerequisites include the submission of the valid statutes or articles of association, an excerpt from the register of associations/trade or foundation, as well as the current tax exemption certificate from the tax office. The project application should include, in addition to the title and brief description, information on location, schedule, target group, and expected impact. A concise financial plan should explain the requested funds and the applicant’s own contribution. After a positive review, timely feedback will be provided to clarify all further documents in coordination with the applicants. This funding opportunity is specifically aimed at organizations that carry forward the legacy of the Berlin Airlift in the spirit of peace and international solidarity.
