Description
The project funding of the Niedersachsen Foundation is committed to the cultural, scientific, and social development of the state and is aimed at non-profit organizations based in Niedersachsen. At its core, it creates impulses for contemporary cultural production and strengthens regional locations. This funding supports the diversity of cultural offerings by focusing on projects in the fields of music, literature, museums and art, theater and dance, socio-culture, as well as education and science. The goal is to enable vibrant and sustainable cultural projects that not only provide space for creative processes but also contribute to strengthening regional identity and social cohesion.
The Niedersachsen Foundation provides a grant for eligible projects, starting from a minimum funding amount of €5,000. Only expenses directly incurred within the scope of the project are considered. Costs for personnel, ongoing general operating expenses, or previously approved measures not directly related to the project are not eligible expenses. This focused approach ensures that financial resources are specifically used for the implementation of innovative and high-quality projects. Applications are evaluated based on the quality of the proposal, its relevance to the cultural development of Niedersachsen, and the sustainability of the project investments.
Applications are submitted exclusively online via a dedicated application portal, where non-profit institutions must submit a current exemption certificate as proof of non-profit status. The funding program offers multiple application deadlines scheduled from March 15, 2025, to January 15, 2026. This staggered timeline allows various organizations to submit their applications punctually and with sufficient lead time. By consistently focusing on projects that provide a positive cultural and social added value, the Niedersachsen Foundation promotes innovative initiatives that sustainably enrich the cultural landscape and quality of life in the state. Experts and project sponsors are thus provided with a platform to realize forward-looking ideas for the promotion of art, culture, and science.
