The project funding of the Welthaus Bielefeld Foundation is aimed nationwide at projects initiated or supported by Welthaus Bielefeld e. V. that correspond to the statutory purposes of the foundation. Non-profit initiatives in the fields of development cooperation, social cohesion and democracy, human rights, globally just economic order, as well as agriculture and rural development are supported. The foundation grants long-term and ongoing subsidies to effectively secure educational, public relations, and lobbying work, cultural exchange, and practice-oriented project work. The foundation’s capital remains intact: only the generated earnings flow into the funding, while the principal capital is permanently preserved.
Through its commitment, the foundation aims to strengthen international understanding, reduce racism, and create fair living and working conditions worldwide. Funded initiatives can be implemented both in Germany and internationally, provided they advance the realization of human rights and the establishment of a socially just global economic order. A prerequisite for funding is a properly submitted application by Welthaus Bielefeld e. V. as well as compliance with the foundation’s financial and project guidelines. The careful selection of projects is carried out by the board and the foundation council based on a transparent procedure.
