Description
The Rastatt Environmental Foundation continuously supports innovative projects throughout Germany with a focus on environmental and nature conservation, climate protection, education for sustainable development, energy efficiency, regional development, as well as vocational training and further education. Eligible to apply are non-profit organizations, companies, private individuals, and public institutions committed to the preservation and nature-friendly development of native animal and plant species. In particular, projects in the areas of agriculture & rural development, landscape management, environmental education, and environmental monitoring are funded with grants ranging from 80% up to 100%. The funding rates depend on regional significance, economic efficiency, sustainability aspects, and the effectiveness for designated conservation objectives. Applicants may submit their documents – application form, project description, financing plan, and cost estimates – at any time; decisions are usually made by the foundation’s board twice a year.
The foundation’s applications primarily target initiatives within the administrative districts of Rastatt (city of Rastatt, Iffezheim, Steinmauern, Muggensturm, Ötigheim), but projects active nationwide also benefit. Eligible costs include planning expenses, construction measures, maintenance and care costs, as well as public relations and informational materials. Personnel and retroactive costs are excluded. In addition to financial support, the foundation places great importance on professional guidance and public relations to sustainably strengthen the acceptance and impact of the measures. Through its broad funding spectrum, the foundation encourages both experts and initiatives alike to further develop their concepts for biodiversity and climate adaptation.
