Project Funding / Funded Projects (Children Need Music – Foundation for an Active Musical Childhood)

The initiative supports projects nationwide that promote children’s active music-making while pursuing holistic, sustainable approaches. Funding is provided for initiatives that combine musical activities with theater, movement, or intercultural exchange and are designed to be inclusive. Eligible applicants include non-profit associations, interest groups, educational institutions, as well as individuals. The focus is on offerings for children and adolescents from diverse social and cultural backgrounds that strengthen their personal development and enable social participation. Funding is provided in the form of grants, with particular emphasis placed on model character and practical impact. Applications are open to all who wish to implement sustainable and cross-border music education concepts.

Submissions are accepted at any time and decisions are made within a maximum of six months. A prerequisite for application is a complete concept including a project description, justification of necessity, detailed cost and revenue breakdown, as well as information on success monitoring and documentation planning. Selection is based on alignment with the statutes, sustainable potential, and integrative and cross-border aspects. Applicants should demonstrate how results will be measured and documented to ensure transparency of the funding process.
