Project Funding with Educational-Didactic References to Migration and Intercultural Learning

In Vienna, the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research supports general extracurricular educational offerings with a pedagogical-didactic focus on migration and intercultural learning. Funding is provided, among others, for German as a second language courses, measures to support learning for children whose mother tongue is not German, as well as relevant workshops. Eligible applicants include interest groups, other associations, non-profit organizations, and educational institutions based in Vienna that establish a connection between school and extracurricular formats. The goal is to strengthen intercultural competence, improve basic language skills, and promote equal opportunities for learners with a migration background.

Applications can be submitted continuously; no fixed budget volume is specified. Paid as a grant, the funding covers personnel costs, material expenses, and organizational costs within the scope of the project. For the application, a precise project description, a detailed cost estimate, and the fully completed application form must be submitted. Upon completion of the project, a report on content, achievement of objectives, and financial accounting must be provided. This open funding instrument enables providers to implement sustainable concepts for language and interaction promotion and thereby contribute to Vienna’s intercultural educational landscape.
