Project Fund "Sport"

The "Sport" project fund of the City of Vienna continuously provides grants to non-profit clubs and interest groups to strengthen the Viennese sports sector in various areas. Funding is provided primarily for youth sports projects, the maintenance and expansion of sports infrastructure, as well as the modernization of sports equipment. Additionally, expenses for sports events and competitions, cooperative projects with schools and kindergartens, as well as measures specifically promoting girls' and women's sports and disability sports can be applied for. The allocation of funds is open-ended and targets the Viennese associations of the three Austrian umbrella sports organizations (ASKÖ, ASVÖ, UNION) as well as the Viennese Football Association, which further distribute the funding to suitable projects within the city.

For a successful application, the planned measures must take place in Vienna, must not pursue profit-making objectives, and must be substantiated by a detailed project description. Furthermore, the nomination of a responsible coordinator or organizer is a prerequisite for approval. Eligible expenses include construction measures, procurement of equipment and devices, organization and execution of events, as well as offers for the training and further education of coaches and officials. Applications can be submitted at any time, with evaluation based on the submitted documentation and fulfillment of the service description. This funding provides sports clubs in Vienna with a reliable foundation to implement innovative concepts, expand cooperation, and contribute specifically to the further development of local sports.
