Description

The project cost subsidy from the Tourism Promotion Fund supports commercial tourism enterprises in all Styrian tourism municipalities with direct financial assistance aimed at sustainable quality enhancement. Funded measures include conversions and extensions, modernization of guest rooms, dining areas, sanitary facilities, and staff areas, as well as barrier-free adaptations. Investments in operational infrastructure areas (e.g., health, sports, culture), energy savings, and safety measures (fire protection) are also eligible for funding. Furthermore, the use of new organizational and communication technologies as well as capacity adjustments in beds and seating are rewarded. The subsidies range between four and fifteen percent of the eligible costs, depending on the degree of fulfillment of the criteria. Continuous application submission is possible, provided that it occurs before the start of the investment and the required trade license is available at the investment location.

Small and medium-sized enterprises in the tourism sector with an existing trade license can submit comprehensive project documentation including a cost breakdown, proof of financing, balance sheets of the last two fiscal years, and necessary approvals. Selection is based on the thriftiness, economic efficiency, and appropriateness of the investments, alignment with regional market requirements, and integration of regional products. After project completion, the payment is released based on invoices and payment receipts as well as a summarized Excel statement. This targeted funding strengthens leading tourism enterprises, increases competitiveness, and secures jobs in Styria in the long term.
