Description
The nationwide Promoter Program of the North-South Bridges Foundation has been supporting development policy work within Germany in all 16 federal states since 2013. As a grant project, it targets non-profit organizations, public institutions, and educational establishments committed to social cohesion, democracy, education for sustainable development, migration, as well as vocational training and further education. Around 150 promoters make One World topics visible in municipalities, associations, and development policy networks, intensifying the exchange between civil society actors on site. Through close cooperation with state networks and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the program sustainably strengthens the local anchoring of globally responsible action.
The funding objective aims to raise global awareness and support regional initiatives advocating for fair trade, climate and environmental issues, migration, or participation. Funded projects network various stakeholders, develop educational offerings, and create platforms for public debates. The funding remains continuously available and adapts to the specific needs in both East and West Germany. Initiatives, municipalities, or development policy working groups that envision making their region a vibrant place for sustainable development and global justice will find appropriate financial and organizational support in the Promoter Program.
