Psychosocial Care – Funding by the Olgäle Foundation for Sick Children e.V.

The Olgäle Foundation for Sick Children e.V. continuously supports the psychosocial care of young patients at the Olgahospital Stuttgart in Baden-Württemberg. The focus of the funding is on urgently needed personnel positions as well as diverse therapy offerings that address the emotional and social needs of sick children and adolescents and their families. Funding is provided particularly for personnel costs in social services, psychology, music and drama therapy, or hospital clowns, as well as for specialized therapy forms such as equine or art therapy. Through a grant upon application, public institutions at the Olgahospital can expand care capacities and thus ensure holistic support for those affected. Applications can be submitted at any time, enabling flexible planning and rapid implementation of projects.

With the aim of alleviating the burdens of a serious illness, the foundation supports services that go beyond basic medical care. Psychosocial care provides supportive effects on the family environment and has been proven to contribute to better coping with treatment and hospital stays. Public providers at the Olgahospital thus have the opportunity to sustainably strengthen their structures for caring for sick children and their families. The funding covers expenses for personnel and therapy services and makes a valuable contribution to ensuring that the healing process of patients is supported not only physically but also emotionally.
