Description
The "PV Promotion for Businesses" in Vienna supports companies with a registered office in the federal capital in investments in decentralized photovoltaic systems, thereby contributing to increased energy efficiency and climate protection. Both new installations and expansions of existing PV systems operating in parallel with the grid are eligible for funding. The measure aims to expand the share of renewable electricity generation in Vienna and reduce the carbon footprint of commercial enterprises. As a direct grant, it covers up to 45% of eligible investment costs. Small and medium-sized enterprises benefit from a possible increase in the funding rate by up to 20 percentage points. Planning and consulting services as well as studies and expert reports related to the PV system are also eligible for funding. Land costs, services rendered prior to application submission, administrative fees, and financing costs are excluded.
Only legal entities (companies and businesses) with a legal place of business in Vienna are eligible. A proven minimum annual performance of 800 full-load hours (500 hours for vertical installation) as well as the possibility to feed the generated electricity into the public grid are prerequisites. The application must be submitted before ordering or construction begins. Among other documents, the application must include a quote from a specialist company, proof of the projected annual green electricity yield, a photo ID, and, if applicable, proof of MGWB. Since the budget for 2025 is already exhausted, new applications are continuously processed as soon as additional funds become available. Applications can be submitted indefinitely; after positive approval, the implementation period is 24 months.
