Description

The regional basic funding for spatial planning activities supports inter-municipal regional planning associations (Regios) in Vorarlberg through a flat-rate annual financing of their personnel and material costs. Public institutions with legal personality, in which at least two municipalities cooperate institutionally, benefit from this project-independent grant. The aim is to permanently secure the functionality and professionalism of regional management and to promote broad, cross-municipal regional development. A prerequisite is an overall development concept (GEK) or regional spatial development concept (regREK) adopted by a committee, which is publicly accessible online.

The amount of funding is up to €75,000 annually for Regios with up to eight member municipalities and up to €85,000 for associations of nine or more municipalities, provided that at least one full-time equivalent position is filled. A proportional grant is made in case of lower staffing levels. Applicant regional planning associations must demonstrate a seat in Vorarlberg, their own budget, a cooperation agreement or statutes, as well as an internet presence. The funding application must be submitted using the official form by no later than April 30 of each year. Enclosed must be excerpts from the association register or statutes, evidence of the office including full-time equivalent, and the cost allocation key of the member municipalities. The combined funding commitment and disbursement, which occurs once annually, takes place after review of all documents in accordance with the provisions of the state government’s guidelines.
