Description
The Regionality Initiative in Carinthia supports small and medium-sized food retailers such as grocery stores, bakeries, and butcher shops with a direct grant to secure basic supply in rural communities in the long term and to revitalize town centers. The funding not only strengthens local suppliers but also actively counteracts vacancies and business closures, thereby increasing the attractiveness of rural areas for both residents and tourists alike. The program contributes to strengthening the communicative and social functions in the town center and promotes the sustainable structure of small local suppliers. Funding applications can be submitted continuously from January 1, 2024, until the funding volume is exhausted.
Small businesses in the food trade with a valid trade license in Carinthia, which are members of the regional food trade committee or the regional guild of the food industry (bakers/butchers), are eligible to apply. Additionally, the measure requires an active Genussland Carinthia trade partnership or producer partnership. After verification of the formal requirements, a direct grant will be awarded to offset the burdens in the town center and sustainably promote regional value creation. Interested businesses can find detailed information on the application process and formal requirements at the Carinthian Chamber of Commerce as well as Department 7 of the Carinthian State Government.
