Regional Program "Environmentally Fit Burgenland"

The regional program "UmweltFit Burgenland" supports tourism, gastronomy, and cultural enterprises as well as schools and educational colleges in Burgenland in the certification process to obtain the Austrian Ecolabel. In cooperation with the federal government (Climate and Energy Fund), consulting services are offered to sustainably enhance environmental awareness, quality, and resource efficiency. Eligible applicants are natural or legal persons and registered partnerships with a place of business in Burgenland – in accordance with the Ecolabel guidelines UZ 200 (tourism, gastronomy & cultural enterprises) or UZ 301 (schools & educational colleges). A prerequisite is initial registration on the Ecolabel website and the exclusive use of consulting services provided by Energieberatung Burgenland GmbH.

Up to 40 consulting hours are funded at a net hourly rate of up to €100, with subsidies scaled according to company size: micro-enterprises up to 80%, SMEs 70%, and large enterprises 50%; schools and educational colleges can receive 100% funding (up to €4,000). Applications must be submitted before the start of the consulting services; documentation includes the application form, initial Ecolabel registration, invoices, and timesheets. The project duration is a maximum of six months, and applications can be submitted until December 31, 2025. The Burgenland Business Agency decides on the allocation based on available budget funds and compliance with the Ecolabel guidelines. This program specifically supports local initiatives to promote sustainable development in Burgenland.
