Description
The travel, accommodation, and tour cost subsidies in Vienna offer artists from various disciplines – from solo artists to ensembles – reliable partial funding for their mobility expenses. As a direct funding measure, these subsidies support travel, accommodation, and tour costs, thereby enabling artistic projects that would be only limitedly or not at all feasible without external funds. Eligible applicants include natural persons, interest groups, associations, and non-profit organizations with Austrian citizenship or permanent residence in Austria. Applications can be submitted continuously to the Federal Chancellery in accordance with § 4 of the Art Promotion Act. As part of the approval process, it must be demonstrated that the project is not feasible without the subsidy and is financially secured; furthermore, any funding already applied for or granted from other federal or state programs must be disclosed. The aim of this funding is to strengthen the active integration of contemporary art in society and to promote creative exchange both nationally and internationally.
For the application, the general application form as well as the form for scholarships, acquisitions, and studios are required. Since the application deadline is ongoing and funds are allocated based on availability, early preparation of the documents is recommended. With a combined subsidy for travel, accommodation, and tour costs, artists are given the opportunity to present their projects beyond the regional level, expand networks, and intensify artistic collaborations. Interested parties can find detailed information on funding requirements, the application process, and award criteria on the Federal Transparency Portal.
