Description
The Ilse Kubaschewski Foundation supports researchers at German universities and comparable public institutions with travel grants of up to €1,500. The aim of the support is active participation in national and international congresses on demential diseases, either in the form of a poster presentation or a lecture. Eligible expenses include actual travel, attendance, and accommodation costs, provided no honoraria were paid for congress participation. Thematic focuses are on dementia prevention, care and nursing, non-pharmacological treatment approaches, as well as the role of relatives. Applications can be submitted year-round and are based on a cost estimate. Funding requests should be submitted no later than one month before the start of the event, with approval granted within approximately four weeks.
A prerequisite for funding is formal employment at a German university or public research institution as well as a qualified abstract that has been submitted for acceptance as a poster or lecture. Applicants must submit, among other documents, an informal application on the institution’s letterhead, consent from the management, proof of the cost estimate, the abstract and confirmation of submission, and – if available – the acceptance notification. After the congress, a report including a summary of participation and proof of abstract acceptance must be submitted within three months. Thanks to this funding opportunity, dedicated researchers can exchange new insights and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field of dementia.
