Description
The RESPOND Scaleup Program of the BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt, in cooperation with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), targets clean-tech scaleups from the EU that can already demonstrate pilot projects or initial market experience and are pursuing an international growth strategy. Over six months, participating companies from research & innovation, climate protection, energy efficiency, renewable energies, and digitalization receive tailored capacity-building measures, one-on-one coaching, as well as strategic consulting for industrialization and scaling. Furthermore, the program provides access to a Europe-wide network of investors, industry partners, and decision-makers, as well as global visibility through policy engagement and media presence. Selection criteria include a clearly defined clean-tech focus, evidence of prototypes or pilot projects, and readiness to expand into emerging markets.
Eligible for funding are founders and companies of SME size aiming to transition their business models from pilot to fully commercial solutions. Evaluation is based on the maturity level of the business model, sustainability and climate protection impact, and potential for large-scale industrial applications. The application requires a completed online registration form, a compelling pitch deck, and a detailed company profile. Submissions are accepted within specified time windows—current deadlines can be found on the BMW Foundation’s website. As a sponsor, the BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt supports the program in the spirit of the energy transition and contributes to accelerating the global transformation towards a climate-neutral economy.
