Description
The Ernst von Siemens Art Foundation supports public institutions and non-profit organizations throughout Germany in the professional restoration and conservation of exceptional art objects. The grant directly covers the costs of restoration work to secure valuable collections in the long term and make them visible to the public again. Applications can be submitted continuously; interested parties arrange a preliminary meeting with Dr. Martin Hoernes and submit all documents digitally as a single PDF. This ensures that each project is individually reviewed and optimally supported.
The following documents are required for the application: a cover letter, a detailed description of the artwork (including dating, dimensions, technique, material, and provenance), a restoration plan with a timeline and cost estimates, as well as a financing plan with proof of own funds and additional funding contributions. The application is supplemented by at least one high-resolution image of the object (300 dpi on DIN A4). These documents form the basis for a transparent funding decision aimed at preserving cultural heritage and strengthening innovative restoration projects. Museum officials and curators thus receive reliable support to maintain their collection pieces in the best possible condition and keep them accessible in the long term.
