Description
With the support of the State of Styria, the revitalization of historically valuable architectural monuments in Styria is actively promoted. Applicants – whether private individuals, companies, non-profit organizations, or public institutions – receive non-repayable grants of up to 10% of the monument-relevant costs (maximum €22,000 per object and year) or low-interest state loans (0.5% p.a., up to 50% of the costs, maximum €150,000). Proof of ownership or written consent from the owners is required; measures may only commence after submission of the complete "Application for Revitalization" form and compliance with the Technical Guidelines. Required documents include photo documentation, plans, cost estimates, as well as, if applicable, the decision of the Federal Monuments Office and a current land register excerpt.
Eligible expenses include planning and assessment costs, monument-relevant investment costs, as well as the use of traditional craftsmanship services. A funding rate of 10% to 50% rewards monument preservation of substance, professional quality, cost appropriateness, the maintenance of historical craft techniques, and labor market relevance. Excluded are objects owned by the federal or state government, comprehensive parish estate revitalizations, and construction measures prior to application submission. Missing documentation must be provided within six months, and guaranteed funds must be utilized within one year. Through clear evaluation criteria and flexible combinations of grants and loans, this funding program safeguards the built cultural heritage and simultaneously strengthens regional identities in Styria.
