Description

The guideline of the State of Tyrol provides a flat-rate cost contribution to municipalities to cover the administrative expenses arising from the needs assessment for childcare places in accordance with § 9 paragraphs 2, 4, and 5 of the Tyrolean Child Education and Childcare Act. Public institutions throughout Tyrol can submit applications continuously to receive subsidies for administrative efforts. Effective from September 6, 2022, this funding ensures that the planning and survey work on childcare offerings is implemented comprehensively and according to demand, thereby supporting municipalities in securing a sufficient number of available places. The flat-rate approach enables easy accessibility and planning security for municipal decision-makers and staff in early childhood education.

A prerequisite for granting the subsidy is the timely execution of the needs assessment as well as the submission of the fully completed form (Annex 2 of the State Government Regulation dated September 6, 2022). The application deadline is unlimited and can be utilized at any time without submission fees. Municipalities submit the form electronically to the responsible Department of Early Childhood Education and General Education in accordance with the specified requirements. The funding measure helps to free up administrative capacities and to focus on the qualitative further development of childcare structures. The legal basis is formed by the Tyrolean Child Education and Childcare Act and the associated regulation on the procedure and scope of the needs assessment.
