Description
The RISA funding for de-sealing supports climate-relevant projects by IFB Hamburg for the de-sealing of at least 10 m² of surface area on privately used properties in Hamburg. Funding is provided for the breaking up of sealed soil surfaces and the creation of a permeable, infiltratable soil structure. The goal is to make a tangible contribution to climate protection, adaptation to heat and heavy rainfall events, health protection of the population, and the preservation of urban biodiversity. The non-repayable grant covers 30% to 50% of eligible costs, up to a maximum of €25,000. Additionally, de-sealing can lead to a reduction of the municipal stormwater fee upon application.
Eligible applicants are owners and leasehold holders of residential and non-residential buildings in Hamburg. A prerequisite for approval is the submission of the application before the start of measures via the IFB Hamburg e-application portal, along with proof of a cost estimate or an offer from a service provider. If applicable, a power of attorney from co-owners must be attached; digital identification is carried out through the portal using the appropriate procedure. Applications can be submitted continuously as long as the measures have not yet been contractually agreed upon or implemented. After a positive review, funding is approved promptly so that implementation can begin immediately thereafter. With this funding offer, the Hanseatic City actively contributes to climate-resilient design of private properties and provides practical incentives for increased infiltration areas in the urban environment.
