Description
RISA Funding for Infiltration supports private individuals in Hamburg in implementing modern rainwater management solutions and contributes to strengthening urban climate resilience. The funding aims to infiltrate precipitation locally to improve groundwater recharge and secure drinking water resources in the long term. By promoting the conversion to the so-called sponge city, the program makes an important contribution to municipal climate protection and promotes sustainable urban development. Eligible to apply are owners and leasehold holders of residential and non-residential buildings in Hamburg. A prerequisite is the submission of the application before the start of the project, i.e., before the conclusion of contracts for deliveries or services.
Funding is provided for the planning and construction of surface infiltration systems, infiltration basins, and basin-trench systems. The grant rate ranges between 30% and 50% of eligible expenses, up to a maximum of 25,000 euros per project. Eligible costs particularly include services from specialist companies for consulting, planning, and construction of infiltration systems. For application submission, a specialist company’s offer, the application via the IFB Hamburg e-application portal, and – if multiple owners are involved – a power of attorney from the co-owners must be provided. After a positive funding decision, the project can be implemented and the funding disbursed. By utilizing municipal funding programs, participants not only benefit from financial subsidies but also actively contribute to urban water management and the ecological enhancement of their properties.
