Description

The BVB Foundation "leuchte auf" continuously supports non-profit organizations in North Rhine-Westphalia, primarily in the Ruhr area, through targeted in-kind donations. With the aim of strengthening civic engagement and promoting social cohesion, the support is directed at initiatives in welfare services, child, youth, elderly, and family assistance, as well as sports and cultural clubs. Furthermore, projects promoting international understanding, health promotion, and nature and environmental protection are also considered. Allocation is made according to clearly defined criteria to respond effectively to the high volume of incoming requests and to use resources sustainably. The foundation thereby honors voluntary commitment, which is regarded as an indispensable backbone of society, and gives back a part of what clubs and social institutions contribute daily.

Only carriers recognized as non-profit with headquarters in the Ruhr area or the surrounding region are eligible for funding. A prerequisite for a positive evaluation is an official letter on letterhead with signature and stamp, as well as precise specification of the intended use and the date of the planned activity. Complete contact details (name, shipping address, email, telephone number) must also be provided. The submitted documents are evaluated based on regional affiliation, thematic relevance, and completeness. Requests can be submitted at any time without deadline restrictions, offering clubs and social institutions the opportunity to support their project work with urgently needed in-kind goods.
