SAFE® Parent Courses

SAFE® parenting courses offer a scientifically based, violence-preventive program nationwide to strengthen the parent-child bond, specifically tailored to families in financially strained situations. The courses aim to promote parenting skills and stabilize everyday family structures. Participants benefit from certified mentors who teach practical methods to reduce conflicts in the parent-child relationship and increase emotional security. Through its low-threshold design and gender-reflective approach, the program addresses mothers, fathers, and all other legal guardians equally, making a sustainable contribution to violence prevention in the domestic environment.

Parents and families in economically challenging circumstances can apply for financial support in the form of a grant of up to €250 per course participant. Eligibility criteria include proof of a difficult financial situation, status as a student with a BAföG notice, or receipt of benefits under SGB II/XII. Only course fees are eligible for funding and must be submitted via a PDF application form. Required documents include the fully completed form, proof of course fees, income or BAföG notice, and a participation confirmation. Applications can be submitted continuously, allowing flexible planning independent of fixed deadlines. Through straightforward processing and nationwide accessibility, this support actively promotes the participation of disadvantaged families in proven parenting education programs and helps to sustainably establish violence-preventive skills.
