Description

The SAGA GWG Neighborhood Foundation supports non-profit organizations in Hamburg that are committed to sustainable neighborhood development and social cohesion. In particular, projects that have a long-term impact, strengthen neighborhood structures, and promote the integration of diverse population groups are supported. The focus areas include education, culture, social affairs, sports, as well as child and youth welfare. The grant is intended to provide basic or initial equipment, such as furnishing rooms, acquiring technical devices, or public relations work. Linking to existing networks in the district as well as cooperation with other institutions is expressly welcomed to leverage synergies and strengthen community projects.

Material and personnel costs are funded up to €5,000 per month or €30,000 for semi-annual board meetings. Applications up to €5,000 must be submitted by the last day of the previous month to enable a decision by the 15th of the following month. For projects exceeding €5,000, fixed deadlines apply until 31.12.2025 (April 2026), 31.05.2026 (October 2026), and 31.12.2026 (April 2027). Prerequisites include recognition of non-profit status, a project description of no more than two pages, the association’s statutes, and a cost and financing plan. Submission is made digitally via the foundation’s online form. The aim of the funding is to strengthen non-profit initiatives in Hamburg neighborhoods with needs-based initial equipment and thereby promote vibrant communities.
