Funding objective
Funding is provided for the replacement of windows and/or apartment entrance doors in rental and owner-occupied apartments whose building permits date back at least 20 years, as well as adaptation measures in apartments that are necessary due to increased care requirements.

Description
With a grant covering 15% of the eligible costs, Upper Austria benefits from a targeted modernization initiative for individual rental and owner-occupied apartments. Funding is provided for the replacement of windows (U-value ≤ 1.1 W/m²K) and apartment entrance doors (at least resistance class RC2) in buildings with a construction permit of at least 20 years. Additionally, housing adaptation measures to improve accessibility for care needs from care level 1 onwards can be supported. Construction and material costs including VAT are considered, while furnishing costs are excluded. The maximum funding amount is €1,000 per housing unit for window and door replacement and €2,250 for care adaptations. Applications can be submitted continuously and offer both owners and tenants the opportunity to achieve long-term value enhancement and improved living quality.
The prerequisite is that the measures are carried out by commercially authorized companies or that material invoices of at least €1,000 are provided, which must not be older than two years and must be issued to the applicants. Compliance with income limits according to § 2 Z 13 Oö. WFG, Austrian/EWR citizenship or lawful residence according to § 6 Abs. 9–14, as well as a main residence obligation for five years, are also required. For the application, the forms SGD-Wo/E-26 (windows/doors) or SGD-Wo/E-51 (care adaptation), proof of care level, income documentation, material invoices, and, if applicable, a purchase contract in case of apartment acquisition must be submitted.
