Writing Competition "Enjoy Writing?" of the Youth Foundation of Sparkasse Karlsruhe

The writing competition "Joy of Writing?" organized by the Youth Foundation of Sparkasse Karlsruhe is held annually for students in the upper secondary level within the Sparkasse Karlsruhe service area. Under a newly formulated thematic prompt each year, participants develop creative short texts, which are submitted over the course of a school year. The awards are presented ceremoniously during a prize-giving event, where outstanding contributions are honored with certificates and material prizes. The aim of the competition is to discover literary talents and to promote the writing potential of young authors. The focus is not only on linguistic and stylistic quality but especially on the creative engagement with the annually changing main theme, which offers space for sophisticated narrative forms and innovative thought experiments.

Eligible to apply are individuals who belong to a gymnasium class within the Sparkasse Karlsruhe service area and comply with the participation requirements: timely submission of the original text, completed submission form, indication of name, school, and class, as well as a consent declaration from the respective educational institution. The jury evaluates entries based on creativity, linguistic expression, and relevance to the theme. These criteria honor both literary sensitivity and the ability to independently and originally interpret the given theme. The writing competition offers talented young people the opportunity to sharpen their language skills, engage in exchange with like-minded peers, and receive valuable recognition for their literary commitment.
