Students Socially Active

The initiative "Students Socially Active" by the Gute-Tat Foundation enables educational institutions, working groups, class groups, or entire schools nationwide to be active in social projects for one day. The foundation coordinates the deployment and connects the groups with non-profit organizations, such as daycare centers, nursing homes, or community gardens. The one-day engagement replaces a regular lesson or field trip day and is supervised by teachers. The program supports children and young people in grades 7–13 who wish to gain practical insights into charitable engagement within the framework of school group structures.

The aim of the initiative is to introduce young people to voluntary engagement in an accessible way and to strengthen social skills such as empathy, responsibility, and teamwork. Through joint project work in a familiar setting, participants develop an awareness of social cohesion and democratic coexistence. In the long term, they are encouraged to engage socially on a regular basis and to take responsibility in their environment. Applications can be submitted at any time; there is no specific deadline. As a special form of funding, the program is exclusively aimed at educational institutions that meet the formal requirements – supervision by teachers and participation as a working group, class, or school. The Gute-Tat Foundation ensures a straightforward and ongoing funding opportunity to embed social engagement already within schools.
