Description

The program "Student Exchange with African Countries" is aimed at Bavarian educational institutions and non-profit organizations that wish to establish long-term partnerships with African schools within the framework of the development policy school exchange program ENSA. The initiative's goal is to strengthen intercultural learning and make global contexts tangible in the classroom. Grants of up to €5,000 are available per school – a total of up to ten schools can be funded. A prerequisite is a location in Bavaria as well as participation in the ENSA program. The funding amount can be applied for flexibly, as applications are accepted continuously until the funds are allocated.

Both teachers and students equally benefit from encounters that go beyond mere foreign language learning: joint projects on topics such as climate justice, mental health, or sustainable development provide space for exchange on an equal footing. The Foundation for the Promotion of International Youth Exchange in Bavaria thus enables sustainable dialogues between young people from Bavaria and African partner countries. Through team teaching, workshops, and cultural activities, a nuanced picture of the living environments of both regions emerges – an experience that directly influences tolerance and openness to the world in everyday school life. Interested school sponsors can apply for funding at any time and thus lay the foundation for an enriching school partnership.
