Description
The Berdelle Foundation for Science, Culture, and Technology awards non-repayable scholarships once a year to participants of the "Jugend forscht" competition, individually or in groups of up to three persons. Funding is provided primarily for innovative projects in the natural sciences and technology, with a focus on medical and biotechnology as well as pump, fluid, and conveying technology. Through financial support of project costs, young emerging researchers are encouraged to further develop their ideas and present them on regional and national competition stages. The grants serve the purpose of strengthening pioneering research contributions and sustainably promoting young scientists throughout Germany.
Interested students who meet the competition’s participation requirements can submit their applications online via the applicant portal by May 1st and November 1st. The selection criteria include alignment with the foundation’s purpose, feasibility of the project, and a structured financing plan. The following documents must be attached: fully completed application form, tabular CV for each participant, detailed project description, itemized cost breakdown including evidence or third-party commitments, and for minors, a declaration from the legal guardians. After review by the foundation’s committees, approval and disbursement will be made as earmarked grants. A binding proof of use must be submitted no later than six months after project completion. This funding opportunity is aimed at committed young researchers who wish to realize and further professionalize their research work within the framework of Jugend forscht.
