School and Competitive Sports Models

The School and Elite Sports Model in Burgenland promotes innovative dual training approaches that combine general secondary schools (AHS) and vocational higher schools with elite sports. Public institutions, private individuals, and other organizations in Burgenland can apply for grants indefinitely and on an ongoing basis. The goal is the recognition of models by the federal and/or state government as well as the demonstration of a dual training format. Funding is provided not only for the educational training but also for all sports infrastructure and cooperation measures with regional sports associations. For this purpose, detailed documents such as applications, bank details, model descriptions, federal funding proofs, infrastructure and training certificates, as well as schedules of hours and training times must be submitted. Selection is carried out within the framework of the 2024 regional sports funding guidelines, which provide for transparent evaluation and on-site verification of accounts.

Interested schools, sports associations, or clubs based in Burgenland can apply at any time to support their specialized school and elite sports models. Funding is approved based on the submitted documents and granted in the form of direct subsidies. A special focus is placed on the long-term development of talents and the creation of sustainable conditions for elite sports. With the Burgenland State Government as the primary funding authority, a competent partner is available to strengthen dual career paths in sports and enable young athletes to optimally combine academic education with elite sports.
