Description
The SchulBrücken program of the German National Foundation in Hamburg funds nine-day international youth education and exchange sequences several times a year. In each exchange cycle, approximately 50 students from various European countries come together to collaboratively explore historical, political, and social issues in German within the framework of structured workshops. The goal is to strengthen European identity and cooperation already within the school context. Educational institutions can submit applications continuously to enable their students to participate and inspire them for open exchange and intercultural understanding. The grant includes non-material benefits such as training, networking, and professional exchange, thereby sustainably supporting the development of international partnerships.
During the nine days, participants receive scientifically based input, methodological tools, and space for debates on Europe’s future challenges. Through joint project work, moderated discussions, and interactive seminars, the youth develop skills for creative lateral thinking and actively contribute to shaping a European community. SchulBrücken is aimed at education partners interested in cross-border encounters and long-term collaboration. Applications can be submitted at any time; an informal application is sufficient. The project makes Europe tangible already in the classroom, promotes sustainable networks, and lays the foundation for a vibrant, intergenerational alumni network of young Europeans. Interested educational institutions can obtain further details on the application process directly from the German National Foundation in Hamburg.
