Description
The Fonds Soziales Wien provides a grant to support attendance at specialized schools for children and adolescents with disabilities in Vienna. The aim of the funding is to enable school attendance as a complement to the regular school system when integration classes are not an option. Eligible applicants are private individuals in the fields of children and youth, education, social affairs, work & social affairs, as well as training & further education. Applications can be submitted continuously. Essential prerequisites include main residence in Vienna, Austrian citizenship or equivalence (EU citizens, asylum beneficiaries, persons with permanent residence), compulsory school age, and the presence of a disability or special educational support needs.
Applications can be submitted at any time to the FSW customer service; the shortened payment process ensures direct transfer of the grant to the recognized institution. Approval is based on a multiprofessional expert assessment considering economy, efficiency, and appropriateness. Required documents include the fully completed application, medical report or proof of disability, decision from the education authority regarding special educational support needs, birth certificate, registration certificate, proof of citizenship, and – if applicable – proof of authorization to represent or liability declaration. This funding strengthens equitable access to education and enables children and adolescents with special needs to learn in a targeted environment.
