School Ski Course Funding

The school ski course funding in Styria supports educational institutions in the planning and execution of winter sports weeks by fully covering the costs for the round-trip transportation of students to the chosen Styrian ski resort. The initiative is aimed at all compulsory schools in Styria and is continuously available as long as the annual budget ceiling has not been reached. Applications can be submitted as early as the preceding school year and are processed in the order of receipt until the total volume of 0.2 million euros is exhausted. The goal is to facilitate children’s and youths’ participation in multi-day winter sports activities, thereby promoting physical activity, community experience, and education and training in social and sporting contexts.

A prerequisite for funding is a minimum of four overnight stays at the chosen winter sports location within Styria, as well as obtaining at least three offers from authorized occasional or scheduled transport companies, from which the most economically advantageous offer is selected. The funding is provided as a 100% subsidy for the pure transport costs. The following documents must be submitted with the funding application: a fully completed funding application, the offer from the selected bus company or a reservation confirmation from ÖBB, a written commission from the school to the transport company specifying the number of students, number of classes, and class designation, as well as proof of the transport company’s trade license or concession. The disbursement of funds takes place after submission of the travel cost invoice and payment confirmation from the carrier.
