Pregnant Women in Need – Saxon Family Foundation

The Saxon Family Foundation – Support for Families, Mothers, and Children continuously awards earmarked grants under the program "Pregnant Women in Need" to pregnant individuals with permanent residence in the Free State of Saxony who find themselves in financial distress through no fault of their own. The aim of the funding is to provide supplementary financial relief to facilitate the decision to keep the child and to ensure the continuation of the pregnancy. Expenses in the areas of social affairs, women's promotion, health, children and youth, as well as labor & social affairs, are supported. The range of services extends from initial equipment for the baby and household furnishings to maternity clothing and hospital supplies.

Applications can be submitted at any time before delivery exclusively through a recognized pregnancy counseling center. Requirements include an income below the specified thresholds and proof of already applied for or approved public benefits. Evaluation criteria include the degree of financial hardship, the urgency of the purchases, and the completeness of the submitted documents. The following documents must be attached: the fully completed application form, proof of income, proof of received or applied-for social benefits, and – no later than six weeks after birth – the birth certificate. The earmarked use of the funds is mandatory; retention of receipts for one year is recommended.
